My Maths Tutor, a group of experienced Mathematics teachers, is now available to assist your child with his/her maths problems on a daily basis via the internet!

When stuck with a problem (homework, assignment or quiz), - and you cannot assist - your child may email the question(s) and his/her attempt at solving it (if available), to My Maths Tutor for help. Assistance will be emailed back.

Although the answer may be correct, some of the steps may have errors leading to an unnecessary loss of marks in a test or examination. Also this will be rectified by My Maths Tutor.

Primary school children may submit their day`s work sheet (in electronic format) for correction. Our response or assistance will be e-mailed as soon as humanly possible.

How does it work?

Upon receipt, at questions@mymathstutor.org the tutor/teacher analyses the submitted attempt (question and answer) to determine where the actual problem lies, addresses the problem and then explains briefly how the lacking knowledge is applied in solving the problem. If the learner has no clue as to the solution or how to start, then the solution with explanatory remarks will be sent to the learner.

Process

  1. Scan the question (and attempt, if available) with a scanner, create a file on your PC, store the information and send it as an e-mail to questions@mymathstutor.org. The reply will be sent by e-mail to your address.

  2. If a scanner is not available, write out the question and answer on a page, using BLACK INK and take a photograph with a mobile (cell) phone. Transfer the photograph onto your computer (PC) and e-mail it as in (1) above. The reply will then be sent to your/the student`s e-mail address.

  3. Upon receipt at My Maths Tutor, your/the student`s e-mail will be stored on the website, as well as any other relevant correspondence. Your request is then allocated to a Tutor for attention and he/she will reply per e-mail; a copy of which will be kept on your/the student`s record, on the website. For Quality Assurance your/the student`s record containing request and reply, is referred to a competent Moderator to ensure quality and correctness of the reply sent.

  4. As a parent you will also have access to the learner`s file to monitor progress and correspondence.

What does it cost?

Your first three requests will be answered free of charge. This should allow you to determine whether this new approach meets the needs of your child.

Note: If you register your child whilst in the primary school and remain in this ongoing (monthly) payment scheme your fees will not be increased. That means if your child requires assistance and continues in secondary school with his or her maths, the monthly installment remains the same. Signing off and joining later again will be at a higher tariff applicable to the higher grade.

Your child / you will benefit most if you/he/she receives continuous attention by subscribing to the continuous scheme but our service also makes provision for a once off 30 (31) consecutive calendar days (1 month) service requirement. The tariff for one month will then apply.

This service is also available during school holidays!

Primary Level:Grade 4 – 7

R400,00 per 30 (31) consecutive calendar days (1 month) per student in the RSA or $55 (USA) per 30 (31) consecutive calendar days (1 month) for students elsewhere.

Secondary Level:Grade 8 – 12

R450,00 per 30 (31) consecutive calendar days (1 month) per student in the RSA or $60 (USA) per 30 (31) consecutive calendar days (1 month) for students elsewhere.

British A-Level/Cambridge:Last year

R540,00 per 30 (31) consecutive calendar days (1 month) per student in the RSA or $70 (USA) per 30 (31) consecutive calendar days month for students elsewhere.

    • No, because it is one problem less that the teacher needs to attend to. The student/pupil receives the desired solution and is now better able to participate in class.

  • May I ask as many questions as I want?

    • Yes. The more you ask the better your results will be!

  • When can I send in my questions?

    • As soon as possible. The sooner you send the questions the sooner you can hand in the assignment. Don't wait for the last moment. You will not be able to get the benefit of the work if you rush the assignment.

  • May I make use of your service during school holidays?

    • Of course! This is a golden opportunity to catch up with work that is in arrears and to get ahead before the classes start again.

  • Will you check my homework for me?

    • Yes, provided you submit the questions, together with your answers, to check.

      • Will you check my assignment for me?

        • Yes, provided you submit the questions, together with your answers, to check. The return-time will be influenced by the length and difficulty of the assignment.

      • Will this checking be at exta cost for me?

        • No, it is included in your monthly fee.

      • How do I stop with the service?

        • You can, at any time, cancel the service with an email to info@mymathstutor.org. and/or by stopping payment. There are no lock-in periods or long term contracts.

        • However, when joining again after cancellation, tuition fees may be higher. On the other hand, if the student joins when in grade 8, and the contract continues until grade 12, the student receives assistance in grade 12 at the grade 8 tariff when the student joined the scheme.

      • Will my credit card details be safe?

        • Absolutely. The overseas payments are secured by http://www.paypal.com. NO credit card details are provided to My Maths Tutor.
